Have you ever heard people talking about “Web Servers” down or are experiencing heavy load and wonder what these nerds are talking about ?
Let’s see what these nerds are talking about and what in the world is a Web Server ?
Web Server is just like a Social Servant serving the needs of the citizens through the World Wide Web. It’s hard and soft.
In short it serves web pages so you can do all the things you have been doing so far everyday, on the websites you have been visiting.
They come in hardware (computers) and software (programs).
If you dive deep there are some good folks out there. A few to mention are
1. Apache
2. IIS
3. Nginx
4. LightSpeed
And few others include GWS from Google and SunOne from Sun Microsystems.
I guess we eventually will have our OWN brand of web servers called WebileServer
